Frequently Asked Questions
Helpful Info!
You might be wondering about a few things...we are here to answer those questions!
Do we need to make a reservation?
We recommend making a reservation at least two weeks in advance of when you are hoping to ride. Tulip Festival mid-month weekends book out quickly and we have a limited number of bikes. Your reservation is secured by pre-payment (via PayPal or Venmo). Fill out our form below to request a reservation. We do accomodate walk ups and short notice reservations if we have bikes available.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can change or cancel your reservation up to 48 hours before your scheduled day/time for a full refund. Less than 48 hours to cancel and we will not refund. We can reschedule as we have availability. We understand things come up! Please let us know as soon as possible if your plans change so we can make bikes available for others.
What about the weather and what should I wear?
Spring weather is changeable! That means you should be prepared to wear layers (2-4), with the outer layers being water resistant and/or quick drying. Jeans and tee shirts will be cold/wet unless you cover them with something warm/water resistant. Almost all of the Tulip Festival attractions are outdoors and most people ride for 2-4 hours. You keep warm riding and you also cool down when you are stopped. Gloves, stocking caps, sunglasses and sunscreen will help you be prepared!
How do we get to the Tulips?
Our location is central to the fields and gardens. You will park your car here and can ride to the display gardens, Roozengaarde and Tulip Town, as well as, the other open fields of flowers and event activities. Routes can range from 6-10 miles round trip depending on other attractions you would like to stop at. We include a detailed map and customized route advice when we are getting you set up on your bikes. Most people ride for 2-4 hours total.
Are there bike paths to and through the tulips?
The Skagit Valley is an agricultural area criss crossed with roads around the farms, fields and planted areas. You will ride on the roadway with vehicles, though there are decent shoulders and we route you to the safest and best roads for riding as much as possible. You cannot ride your bike in the display gardens, Tulip Town and Roozengaarde, but you can park and lock your bikes up there (we provide the lock) and walk through those attractions. You will ride on roadways to and between the other open fields that are not accessed through the display gardens. Once you arrive at these fields, weather and crowds depending, you may be able to pedal along the perimeter tractor paths around the field edges. Always yielding to vehicles and pedestrians.
